Theresa is a registered Psychologist with over 30 years of experience assisting children, young people and adults achieve positive change in their lives. She has an extensive knowledge base in working with a range of psychological, emotional, developmental behavioural and relational issues, and provides creative and effective therapeutic interventions each uniquely adapted to meet the individual needs of her clients.

Theresa utilises a range of evidence-based therapies in her practise, including psychotherapy, interpersonal therapy, psycho-education, cognitive behaviour therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), relaxation and stress management strategies, family therapy and couples counselling. Pivotal to her effectiveness as a therapist is the emphasis she places on working in partnership with her clients to achieve their identified goals.

Theresa also incorporates a range of expressive therapies in her work with children and adolescents, including sandplay therapy and art therapy. When working with children and youth, Theresa considers it crucial to work collaboratively with parents and caregivers to best support them so that they can help their child reach their full potential. Supporting parents to manage the many challenges of parenting and empowering them to be the best parent/caregiver they can be, is key to the success of her work with children and adolescents.

Theresa also has extensive experience in the administration and interpretation of a broad range of cognitive and behavioural assessments used for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. This includes the assessment of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) using the ADOS-2, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Anxiety and Depression.

Regardless of whether she is working with children, adolescents or adults, Theresa aims to deliver therapeutic interventions which are both solution and outcomes focused and which maximise the needs and emotional well-being of all family members or individuals.
